  • Lady Vols one and done

Tennessee Lady Vols eliminated by UCLA in NCAA Tournament first round WWW.KNOXNEWS.COM Tennessee was eliminated in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Fulmer needs to address this NOW  Seasons over so let's hear something soon. Respect for letting her finish the season but there needs to be issues addressed.  Wonder of Fulmer feels one bad season doesn't justify a change? I think a change is needed. He was gracious. Now make the call. Time to move on.

Vols win in a sloppy showing 77-70

Glad the vols pulled it out but why is this team not putting Williams and Schofield on the FG perimeter and letting Bone get the ball inside?  The pure physicality of those two should own the inside. I'm all good they can hit the three. But sometimes consistent two point shots are better than wild 3's. Glad the Admiral pulled it out but Rick Barnes needs to address this and get ready for Iowa. Tennessee matches up well so I think sweet 16 appearance is coming

Bluetick coonhound oficially Tennessee's state dog

It's official. The bluetick coonhound is Tennessee's state dog — as if that was a debatable subject. Gov. Bill Lee signed the bill into law on Wednesday officially making the beloved University of Tennessee mascot a state symbol. The bipartisan bill, which was introduced by Rep. Bill Beck, D-Nashville, in early February, sailed through the House and Senate with unanimous votes. The bluetick coonhound has been just as synonymous with the Tennessee Volunteers as checkerboards and Power T's since Smokey was first introduced in September 1953.  Was there anything before? Prior to Smokey's anointment, no single dog breed served as Tennessee's state dog. Instead, dogs and cats adopted through Tennessee animal shelters and rescues serve as the state's official pet. Tennessee joins 13 other states who have official state dogs. Maryland was the first to name a dog breed as a state symbol, choosing the Chesapeake Bay Retriever to represent the state in 1964.
