SavageOrangeJug 170 Posted November 8, 2022 Heupel and the defensive staff better be on this guy like white on rice. The UT money people better start working up a sweet NIL deal. This is what we need. A roster full of 5* guys on defense and our explosive offense. It's also time to poach existing stars with the transfer portal. Quote Anthony Hill Jr., the second-ranked linebacker in the Class of 2023, has decommitted from Texas A&M. Hill, No. 18 in the 2023 ESPN 300, intends to commit elsewhere in December during the early signing period, according to his father. "I'd like to thank Texas A&M, [co-DC/LBs] Coach [Tyler] Santucci and staff for recruiting and developing a personal relationship with me and my family," Hill told On3. "Thank you to the Texas A&M fans who have been a great support throughout my recruitment. After further difficult discussions with my family, I will be decommitting from Texas A&M and opening up my recruitment." cowhampshirevol 84 Posted November 9, 2022 3 star DBs will beat the Carolinas and Mizzous of the world but we will always be bridesmaids against the elite in SEC unless we start stockpiling on these types of players.
markymark 8 Posted November 9, 2022 This Tennessee team is in dire need of some hungry, mean, fast tacklers. Nobody has talked a lot about how poorly we tackle. Forget the position players...just tackling in general. We tackled poorly against Pitt. We tackled poorly against Florida. We tackled poorly AT TIMES against Alabama, We tackled poorly against Martin and Kentucky. Our offence cannot carry this team in SEC play. I'm not talking about the occasional missed open field tackle. I'm talking about when we get in front of the player with the ball. At times we look like keystone cops out there; we freeze and anticipate visually which way we think the ball carrier might break. Many times he side-steps, and instead of a sure stop....rambles a few more yards for a first down. I don't like that. We need to commit to the tackle and just get there...straight, fast, and wrapped. A few players like Hill and we could be a team like Georgia on Defense. We need to PURSUE Anthony Hill before we think about another Offensive player. If we're building something special for Nico Iamaleava and the athletes he's throwing to rock to, we need we need to start by assembling a defense that can stop the other teams from getting chunk plays and answering our scores.
SavageOrangeJug 170 Posted November 15, 2022 ...and another one. Let's go staff...start going after these guys. Quote The Tennessee Vols have a shot at a highly coveted recruit that they previously missed on. 2023 four-star edge rusher Rico Walker decommitted from the North Carolina Tar Heels on Friday night. Walker, 6-foot-3/233 lbs from Hickory, NC, is ranked in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 24 edge rusher in the nation and the No. 7 player in the state of North Carolina. Walker committed to North Carolina back in July. Tennessee was one of his finalists at the time (along with Auburn, Florida, and Maryland). The North Carolina native visited Tennessee twice in the spring and twice last season, so he’s quite familiar with Knoxville. markymark 8 Posted November 15, 2022 The way this team is progressing, I don't know why the backs and corners aren't lining up to play here. I mean, they gotta see, that we're a few players short of being a wrecking ball in the SEC. Pretty soon the Sunday players are going to be coming straight outta knoxville on draft days. Why sign with Kirby or Nick where you might sit for 2 years or get beat out by another five star that has a faster 40 time than you do? We got the goods. +VolNick 72 Posted November 15, 2022 Looks like Jimbo is also decommitting from A&M. I think the transfer portal will be full of A&M players this off season and they have some good players to poach.

He is from Knoxville. 5* Defensive Lineman and ranked the #2 player in the nation in 2022. Walter needs to come home.

Nolen played high school football at three different schools: Olive Branch High School in Olive Branch, Mississippi, as a freshman and sophomore; Saint Benedict at Auburndale in Memphis as a junior; and Powell High School in Powell, Tennessee, as a senior. He also enrolled for a time at IMG Academy but did not play there.[1] His coach at Powell, Matt Lowe, described him as "a young man who has been blessed with size, speed and athleticism."[2] In his senior year at Powell, he had 93 tackles, 33 tackles for loss, 27 quarterback hurries, and 17 sacks.[3] He was rated by ESPN as the No. 1 football recruit in the 2022 recruiting class.[4] He was ranked No. 2 by Rivals.com and 247Sports, behind Travis Hunter.[3][5] After his senior year, he was invited to play in the Under Armour All-America Game.[3] In July 2022, he was named Defensive Football Player of the Year by USA Today. He was also rated by USA Today as the country's No. 1 recruit for 2022.[6] Texas A&M Nolen received offers from numerous schools and narrowed his final five to Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, and Tennessee.[1] In November 2021, Nolen committed to play college football for Texas A&M.[7] He later paid an official visit to Tennessee, raising speculation that his commitment was uncertain. He then signed his letter of intent with Texas A&M in December 2021.[8][9] He was part of a recruiting class at Texas A&M that is rated as the best in the history of recruiting rankings.[10] ........ SavageOrangeJug 170 Posted November 17, 2022 Another in-state guy is up for grabs again. Heupel and staff need to lockdown Tennessee Quote Smyrna (Tenn.) four-star linebacker Arion Carter has announced his decommitment from Memphis. Carter originally committed to the Tigers on July 20 when he was a little-known in-state recruit. But Carter started blowing up in late September, going from relatively unknown to sought-after by many of the nation’s best. Auburn, Alabama, Florida, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and USC have all offered the four-star linebacker since the start of the season. Carter took an official visit to Ohio State last weekend and has trips to Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee scheduled over the next month as he looks to close out his recruitment. 4-star LB Arion Carter decommits from Memphis - On3

SavageOrangeJug 170 Posted November 26, 2022 Quote Moments ago, in front of friends and family, elite Jay M. Robinson High School (N.C.) defensive lineman Daevin Hobbs announced his commitment to the Vols over Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, and Ohio State. Prior to publicly revealing the decision, Hobbs sat down with Volunteer Country to discuss his decision to choose the Vols. So why Tennessee for the elite prospect? "Being able to build the dynasty coach Heupel is building over there by showing that he can compete with the big dogs," Hobbs said of the decision to choose the Vols. "In only his second year of coaching there, he has already had a good turnaround season, so just going in with him and helping continue that process." cowhampshirevol 84 Posted November 26, 2022 Glad to have him but I have to chuckle. Compete with big dogs? You got trucked by GA and yes we beat Fla and Bama before naysayers want to burn me at stake. Zero excuses for SC loss even with Hooker injury.
