This kid is electric.  Watched some non-promotional, non-coach sold videos.  A true corner, with x-ray vision for the play in front of him, and for not only where the ball is, but where it's gonna be. He seems to know what his assignment is and he executes it beautifully.  Banks has got to be salivating.  Kid reminds me of Deion.  He's only gonna get better if he gets coached up, WHICH HE WILL.  Imagine a Vol team with a tandem of world-class corners and and a pack of rabid laser-focused linebackers.  And they said Heupel couldn't recruit.

Talent is only as good as the leader leading them. Willie couldn't run a lemonade stand in my opinion and especially in SEC. He is as exposed as Biden in a Q&A session for Pete's sake

In defense of Martinez' he hasn't exactly been dealt a bevy of solid corner talent.  Quite a few are just athletes;  semi-burners with enough bulk to lay a good pop on somebody...but not guys that have played the position in 3 plus years at 4A/5A high schools.  I don't know how we fare statistically in the SEC with interceptions....but I don't think it's very high.  We definitely need a stable of corners.  I was not big on Banks at first--and still have reservations about how he teaches our kids to tackle.  We get there it seems, and then let the opposing team run right by us, around us, or through us. Definitely a problem that needs fixing; but he always dials up a good enough play to  keep the other teams honest.  I don't know if Martinez is that bad, or if he's just behind the 8-ball trying to teach players how play corner, when they really only played receiver in high school.  If we don't tighten up next year, I'd say look for a corners coach.  I'm with you on our current corners status--we need work, same as the secondary.  If Charles needs a breather today, we will see if Dee Williams can step up.  One thing is sure:  We CANNOT go into 2023 with a defensive this mediocre.
