Tennessee wide receiver Jimmy Calloway suspended for first half against Florida

Recommended Posts

As dirty as Akron players played, wish this could have been less. Like a quarter but still the boys gotta play with discipline

Tennessee coach Josh Heupel has suspended wide receiver Jimmy Calloway for the first half against Florida, and the SEC will not take any further action.

A Tennessee spokesperson confirmed the suspension is a coach's decision.

"The SEC supports the decision of Tennessee for a first-half suspension and the conference will take no further action," the SEC said in a statement.

Calloway was ejected in last week's game after punching an Akron player. It was an automatic ejection due to two unsportsmanlike penalties. But it was not ruled an ejection for fighting, which would've yielded a half-game suspension, per NCAA rule.

I knew this was going to happen... :verypissed:

If Tillman can't go then Hyatt moves outside, and Calloway would take his place in the slot.
