++RobVOL 0 Posted January 12 And then there was another one Tennessee football defensive back Shawn Shamburger entered the NCAA transfer portal on Tuesday. The senior was a key member of Tennessee's 2019 defense, but played in only three games in 2020 and sat out the final five. Vols coach Jeremy Pruitt said on Nov. 16 that Shamburger was "working on academics." "This has been a very unusual really circumstance with this whole deal (with COVID-19)," Pruitt said. "You try to do school from home and not being in-person, when you talk about tutors and things like that. One of the things that he is focusing on is, he is going to focus on academics the rest of the semester.” Shamburger finished his Tennessee career with 86 career tackles and 5½ tackles for loss in 38 games, including 16 starts. He made his only career interception in Tennessee's Gator Bowl win against Indiana on Jan. 2, 2020.
