Coach Pruitt's dad got another job

Recommended Posts

Dade County High School in Trenton, Georgia has a new coach with a familiar name.

Dale Pruitt, the father of Tennessee’s Jeremy Pruitt, has left Albertville to take over at Dade County. Over the years, Pruitt has been one of the most successful high school coaches in the state of Alabama, leading his teams to an overall record of 289-138. His long coaching career began in the 1980s at Pisgah before moving on to Plainview, Fort Payne, Marion County, back to Plainview and finally Albertville up until last season.

Pruitt has reached the Alabama state playoffs 25 times during his career. His entire high school record can be viewed at AHSFHS.org. While he’s coached high school ball for 36 years, Pruitt has never coached a team located in the state of Georgia. He did have a two-year run at Marion County, Tennessee in 2004 and 2005.

During his high school coaching career, Pruitt has led four teams to undefeated regular seasons.

Interestingly enough, Pruitt now has a play called “Tennessee” in his playbook, likely for obvious reasons:
