Jumper gets his reward!
An important piece in Tennessee’s defense has been reclassified and has another season of eligibility as a result.
Vols linebacker Colton Jumper — a former walk-on from The Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn. — was granted a redshirt from his first season with the program in 2014 — and will again be listed as a junior in 2017. Multiple program sources confirmed the news to GoVols247, and Jumper's status has been changed on Tennessee's official roster.
The 6-foot-2, 224-pound Jumper played in only one game in 2014 — Tennessee’s season-opening win over Utah State — but had still been listed as a sophomore and junior in the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
