Derek Barnett looms large in LII
Derek Barnett came up big for the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
The former Tennessee star, now a defensive end for the Eagles, scooped up a fumble from New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady late in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl 52 on Sunday night. Barnett gathered the ball after defensive end Brandon Graham stripped Brady, allowing the big turnover to happen with the Eagles holding a 38-33 lead.
Talk about being in the right place at the right time. New England’s turnover happened after the Eagles took a 38-33 lead on a 11-yard touchdown pass from Nick Foles to Zach Ertz. After the Brady turnover, the Eagles added a 46-yard field goal from Jake Elliott.
The Eagles took Barnett 14th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft. He had 21 tackles with 5 sacks this season.
